Swept Under The Carpet - it's a wrap (almost)

Well yesterday was a learning experience for all - exhausting, but so very, very fun!

We were filming our first short, Swept Under The Carpet.  I've really enjoyed writing and directing this piece, and the actors all brought a very positive attitude to the day.

Swept Under The Carpet is a Cluedo inspired piece - a famous stage actor is being interviewed by an enthusiast from a local paper.  But all in not as it seems!

It was superb to see my characters and their lines so breathed life into.  I've previously had experience of shooting stop motion and various home videos.  But shooting actors and drama brought a lot more challenges, as well as trying to fit your script and action into your location (oops, avoid that mirror there).

I spent last night having a look through our recordings, and the thing that struck me most was how much laughing there was - because we genuinely gelled and had a good time filming.  We have still one final scene with a different cast member to do next week, but overall, job done.

Of course right now comes the lonely experience of editing it all together!  That starts from next weekend.

Coming soon(ish) ...
